9th grade art students at TCCS created a Day of the Dead project. The students learned about prehistoric time and created a version of a cave painting by using soft pastels. They also experimented with tints to create the background for their Stonehenge paintings. Students have been learned about Mesopotamia and the Sumerians from Sumer. They created a clay "cylinder seal" and a clay "tablet". We had to skip over the Egyptians for now, in hopes that they could get Greek projects finished. Students learned a little about Greek Mythology. They created a Greek cornucopia using crayon as a medium. Don Marco, the crayon master was the artist who inspired the crayon drawing. Students learned about the Greek Architectural Orders and drew or painted Greek column(s) of their own.
